Bingley author Caroline Towers will celebrate the launch of her memoir, I Learned to Live Again, with a free book party at Mulligans of Bingley on Saturday 7th November, from 7 pm to 10 pm.
About the Book
Published by Yorkshire imprint Electrifying Press, I Learned to Live Again follows Caroline through the three years after the end of an eighteen-year relationship, which ended the year she turned forty. Months earlier she had broken her ankle, and she found herself rebuilding her life one step at a time. Along the way came her first solo trip in over twenty years, to Las Vegas, and a return to dating after nearly two decades.
Told through essays, poems and notes app scribbles, the book covers dating apps in your forties, eating alone, going to gigs alone, three very different New Year’s Eves, and the small brave things that add up to a new life.
Caroline said:
This isn’t a misery memoir. It’s about the unglamorous, funny, everyday side of starting over. Learning to walk into a pub on your own. Booking a ticket without asking anyone. I wrote it for anyone who’s had to rebuild their life and wondered if they could. You can.
The Launch Party
The evening will include a reading from the book, a chance to meet the author, and signed copies available to buy on the night.
Entry is free, but places must be booked in advance on the booking page.
