World-renowned forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd will bring his new theatre show, Time of Death: More Unnatural Causes, to Leeds City Varieties on 18 October 2026.

The show follows Dr Shepherd’s previous tour, Unnatural Causes, which was based on his Sunday Times bestselling book of the same name. His latest live event will explore the mysteries of life, death and the crucial role time plays in forensic investigations.

Over the course of his career, Dr Shepherd has worked on some of the most high-profile cases of recent decades, including the Princess Diana inquiry, the 9/11 and 7/7 terrorist attacks, the Bali bombings and cases involving Russian assassination squads.

A familiar face on television through programmes including Body in the Water, Autopsy: The Last Hours Of… and The Truth About My Murder, Dr Shepherd has spent decades investigating sudden, unexplained and suspicious deaths.

In Time of Death: More Unnatural Causes, he will take audiences behind the scenes of forensic pathology, explaining how time can help reveal the truth behind accidents, murders and unexplained deaths.

The show will explore how forensic experts interpret evidence from crime scenes and from the body itself, helping to piece together the final moments of a person’s life and uncover what happened after death.

From complex investigations to the silent evidence left behind by the dead, Dr Shepherd will share insight into the painstaking process of solving some of the most difficult questions in life and death.

The evening will also offer a personal perspective on a career spent working at the boundary between life, death and justice, reflecting on the human impact of decades in forensic medicine.

Combining true crime, science and personal experience, the show offers Leeds audiences a rare opportunity to hear first-hand from one of the UK’s most experienced forensic pathologists.
