This exciting role will support the charity’s growing work across Leeds, with a focus on delivering sessions in local leisure centres and care settings.
The successful candidate will lead inclusive group activities for older adults that promote both physical and mental wellbeing. Sessions will include games, gentle exercise, and opportunities to share sporting memories in a fun and supportive environment.
The Community Sport and Health Officer will also connect with local referral and volunteer organisations in the community to help recruit volunteers and to facilitate beneficiary referrals into our Clubs and Sporting Memories sessions.
The role will suit a range of people and circumstances, and we welcome older people looking to return to work or change careers.
This Community Sport and Health Officer is an apprenticeship and the chosen candidate will be supported by Lifetime Training, with regular face-to-face or online meetings to discuss feedback and progress, as well the opportunity to work towards qualifications, including the level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer apprenticeship. The role will be based at the John Charles Centre where another of our partners, Active Leeds, are based.
This role is being funded through a grant awarded from The National Lottery Community Fund. The role will include a 12-15 month contract for the chosen candidate.
