Leeds-based Fenton Packaging Solutions has been awarded National Gold in the prestigious International Green Apple Environment Awards for Paper & Packaging: Innovation.
โThis recognition celebrates our commitment to developing sustainable alternatives to traditional rigid plastic containers,โ says Fenton Packaging Solutions Sustainability Manager Alison Gales.
โMany industries use rigid plastic HDPE containers for everything from chemicals to detergents, and with strong pressure from shareholders, pressure groups, and the public, to move away from plastic or at least reduce it, there has never been a more important time to develop an alternative solution.
โWorking with Sweden-based packaging innovators Quadpak, Fenton Packaging Solutions offers a wide range of UN-approved sustainable bag-in-box alternatives which are ideally suited for the majority of products in Packing Groups II & III, where rigid plastic containers have been the traditional packaging format of choice.
โOur bag-in-box packaging solutions are made from 100% recyclable materials and use 80โ90% less plastic than traditional rigid containers.
โThe impact of switching to our bag-in-box solutions is significant, delivering 80โ90% reduction in packaging waste by weight, combined with a 4:1 logistical transportation advantage, improving efficiency while significantly lowering environmental impact.โ
Commitment to sustainability
โThis award comes just three months after we were awarded a Bronze medal for sustainability by EcoVadis,โ says Fenton Packaging Solutions Managing Partner Chris Warren. โThe National Gold award from The Green Organisation in the Paper & Packaging: Innovation category of this yearโs International Green Apple Environment Awards is a testament to the passion, innovation, and teamwork across Fenton.
โSustainability is at the heart of our business and this latest award highlights our continued commitment to embedding sustainability principles into every aspect of our operations.
โWeโre delighted to see our sustainability efforts recognised on an international stage, and even more excited to keep pushing boundaries for a greener future.โ
